Our mission is to empower Opportunity Youth, Young Adults and Individuals with the knowledge and tools necessary to succeed in the maritime industry and create pathways to long-term financial stability.

In 2025, our Merchant Maritime Training Program is becoming a certified California Youth Apprenticeship (COYA) for 16-24 year olds. As well as, a Federally certified Department of Labor Apprenticeship Program for adults 18+.

Apex Maritime Training and Consulting Founder and Program Director, Evan Hastings, is a Boatswain and licensed instructor with 30 years maritime experience, the last 27 years with Sealiff Military Supply Command

N. California Hands-on, Work-based Learning

Trainees volunteer aboard the USS Potomac, Port of Oakland, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s Floating White House, is a National Historic Landmark and a vibrant part of the East Bay Waterfront. As well as, the SS Red Oak Victory, last surviving Victory ship build in Richmond, CA.
